The Michael Piegare Foundation was founded in 2009 to honor the amazing life and enduring spirit of Michael Joseph Piegare; an ordinary young man who will forever be remembered for his EXTRAORDINARY acts of leadership, kindness, and teamwork.
Michael died in a tragic automobile accident on November 22, 2008.
Michael was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed playing competitively, and experienced great joy from mentoring budding athletes and supporting his comrades. As a collegiate player, he was a rare breed; often regarded as the “heart” of the team. His deep love for and participation in organized sports helped to shape these highly regarded and salient qualities. Such characteristics are paramount in the development of our youth. It is, therefore, through this foundation that Michael’s legacy lives on by creating opportunities for and expanding the horizons of young athletes so they may achieve their highest potential.
The Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable 501(c) (3) organization incorporated under the laws of the State of New York.
